The South West is long and thin, and that matters here more than it does in most regions. A course in Penzance is the better part of three hours from Bristol, and Dartmoor sits between the two coasts rather than beside either of them. Check the venue as well as the region before you book, because “the South West” covers a great deal of ground.
A good deal of what runs here happens in village halls, and on the edge of the moor when the weather allows. Warm layers and boots you do not mind ruining are usually a better guess than not.
